Long hair isn’t hair you’ve stopped cutting. The guys with great long hair are still getting it cut. They’re just getting the right cuts.
Short answer
Longer men’s hair still needs a haircut about every 6–8 weeks to keep its shape, control bulk, clean up the neckline and around the ears, and remove split ends. Book the Signature Haircut so there’s time for the scissor and detail work.
01
What happens when you stop cutting it
The sides get heavy and puff out. The back gets shaggy. The ends split and frizz. The shape you liked disappears, and it starts to look like hair that hasn’t been cut, instead of a longer style.

What a regular cut does for long hair
- Keeps the shapeA flow or warrior cut needs its shape maintained to look intentional.
- Controls bulkTaking weight out so the sides sit flat and the hair moves.
- Cleans up the edgesNeckline and around the ears, where long hair looks messy first.
- Removes damaged endsSplit ends make long hair look thinner and frizzier.
- Makes it easier to styleWell-cut long hair falls into place with less product.
03
How often to come in
About every 6–8 weeks for most longer styles. If you’re still growing it out, the same timing works: your barber just takes less off.

A trim won’t cost you length
Tell your barber you’re keeping the length. A good cut for longer hair is mostly shaping and weight removal, not taking inches off.
Great long hair is still cut hair.

What to book
Book the Signature Haircut. Longer hair needs scissor work and detail time, and because you’re coming in less often than someone with a fade, it usually costs about the same over a year.
